Sesame Honey Shrimp

I enjoy looking around websites and getting ideas and inspiration to create meals. This plate is easy to make and is delicious.

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 lbs of cooked shrimp
  • 1/2 C Honey
  • 1/3 C Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbl of minced garlic (or 2 smaller Cloves, minced)
  • 2 Tbl of Sesame Oil
  • 1 Tbl Oyster Sauce
  • 1 1/2 Tbl Corn Starch
  • 2 Tbl Sesame seeds
  • Vegetable of your choice, I prefer mixed Broccoli, Green Peppers, Yellow Peppers, Orange Peppers, and Red Peppers. Lots of Veggies is my preference, never too much but at least 3-4 Cups.
  • 1 can water chestnuts (Drained)
  • 2 C white Rice
Instructions:
  1. Mix together, Honey, Soy, & Garlic. Remove tails from Shrimp, rinse, and place in a large Baggie. Pour mixture into the bag with shrimp. Mix together and place in the refrigerator. Minimum 1 hour but over night is great !
  2. Get your rice going (I use a rice cooker) however you make rice is fine.
  3. In a large pan or Wok, get the sesame oil going until it’s hot. Put in the broccoli, peppers, and water chestnuts. Cook down your veggies under firm, but not mushy. Drain out the liquid once they are cooked down ! Return to Wok/Pan. Add your 1 Tbl spoon of Oyster Sauce. Mix until hot and reduce heat or remove from heat covered.
  4. In another large pan (Preferably while your veggies were cooking) pour in your shrimp mixture. Cook on high heat. Once boiling, reduce heat and add 1 1/2 Tbl spoon of Corn Starch to help thicken up. You don’t want a glaze, so start with a 1 Tbl spoon of Corn starch and add a bit more if you want a little thicker. Put in your 2 Tbl spoons of Sesame Seeds. Let cook and boil stirring often on Medium heat. Return veggies to heat.
  5. Placement on your plate: Rice, a little butter, Veggies, Shrimp with a spoon fills of sauce.
  6. Enjoy !
