Folks, this crock pot recipe is most excellent and is a delicious easy to make meal. Cook time is 3-4 hours. This is my personal recipe. Enjoy !
Ingredients
- 2.5 - 3 lbs of boneless, skinless chicken (Thighs are the best)
- Salt & Pepper
- 1 cup honey
- ½ cup of Soy Sauce
- 3 tbl spoons Oyster Sauce
- 2 tbl spoons Sesame Oil
- 4 tbl spoons Ketchup
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- ½ tsp Red Pepper Flakes (Optional also feel free to increase for more of a kick. I used 3 tsp)
- 4 tbl spoons of diced onion (Feel free to add more)
- Sesame Seeds
- 5 tbl spoons cornstarch & 6 tbl spoons of water.
Instructions
- Spray slow cooker with cooking spray
- Season both sides of chicken with lightly salt & pepper (or preferred rub) and place in bottom of slow cooker. Toss in the diced onion. Turn cooker on low.
- In a bowl, add honey, soy sauce, ketchup, oil, garlic, oyster sauce, pepper flakes. Stir until well combined. Pour over the chicken in the slow cooker and cover.
- Cover & Cook on low for 3-4 hours. Start monitoring the chicken at the 2 ½ hour mark. Make sure not to overcook chicken. Should be 160-165 degrees.
- Once chicken temperature is reached, immediately remove and set aside. Let cool for 5 minutes.
- In a small bowl mixed/dissolve the cornstarch & water. Then put in crock pot to thicken sauce. Put lid back on and turn crock pot on high.
- Cut up chicken in bite size pieces place in bowl and sprinkle sesame seeds in and mix. I tend to put a lot in mine preferably.
- Cook up sticky white rice. I have a rice cooker, but any method works.
- After rice is completed, turn off crock pot, put chicken bites in crock pot, wait 5 minutes.
- Serve Honey glazed sesame chicken over sticky white rice and enjoy !
